Feelings to be ignored
Ignore your feelings? Who ever heard of such a thing? Aren’t we supposed to fully experience our feelings and that is how freedom is achieved?
What we learn in movies and TV
Isn’t that conventional wisdom or at least what we learn in movies and TV regarding denial versus experiential?
Scoobydoo as a mecca of wisdom?
For that matter, it’s what is taught in Scoobydoo. I watch Scooby with my 3 year old daughter. And in a recent episode Fred, who is seemingly a bit more enamored with mechanical traps than Daphne, has a revelation that he has feelings for Daphne.
If Scooby does it why ignore?
So why then ignore your feelings? Because sometimes feelings get in our way. Just because we have thought that results in a feeling doesn’t mean the thought is true or valid.
Goodbye to disturbing
In turn the resulting feeling, especially if it emanates from a disturbing thought, may be best left alone – ignored.
